Born in fire. Tempered in blood.
Epheria
is a land divided by war and mistrust. The High Lords of the south
squabble and fight, only kept in check by the Dragonguard, traitors of a
time long past, who serve the empire of the North.
In the remote
villages of southern Epheria, still reeling from the tragic loss of his
brother, Calen Bryer prepares for The Proving—a test of courage and
skill that not all survive.
But when three strangers arrive in
the village of Milltown, with a secret they are willing to die for,
Calen’s world is ripped from under him and he is thrust headfirst into a
war that has been raging for centuries.
There is no prophecy. His coming was not foretold.
He bleeds like any man, and bleed he will.
While Mary lies in a glass coffin aboard a ghost
train heading west, her minions are awaiting her re-awakening by
bringing lots of new souls into Everlost to serve her. Meanwhile Jackin’
Jill has met Jix, a fur-jacker—a skin jacker who can take over the
bodies of animals, most notably jaguars. Jix serves a Mayan god who
collects Everlost coins, and has his own agenda. In the concluding
volume of The Skinjacker Trilogy, Neal Shusterman reveals new sides of
the characters of Everlost, who are pitted against each other in a
battle that may destroy all life on Earth.
THE ECHOES OF FATE, A PROPHECY UTTERED UNTO THE WORLD A THOUSAND YEARS AGO, CANNOT BE DENIED…
Mankind
has lorded over the land of Illian for a thousand years, building on
the ruins left by the elves, as if it were their birthright. A thousand
years is a long time for an immortal race to see the truth of things, a
truth that has remained unsaid for a millennium - elves are superior.
They are faster, stronger and connected to the magical realm in a way
that man could never grasp. Illian should belong to them.
Unaware
of the shadow that looms in the east, the six kingdoms of man are
fractured, unallied, and clawing at each other’s gates for more power.
This isn’t just war set to ravage the land, but a slaughter - the world of man cannot hope to survive.
Thrown
into the heart of this war is a man known by many names; an Outlander
of the wilds, an assassin, a ranger. Asher was born a thousand years
ago, to a life he doesn’t remember. Forty years of brutal training and
killing for money has beaten the earliest years of his life away,
leaving his ties to the oldest of evils a mystery to all…

For years Gregory Roarke and his Kadolian
partner Selene worked as crocketts, combing through the atmospheres of
uninhabited worlds for places that might be colonized or hold valuable
resources. Now, they quietly work for the Icarus Group, a top-secret
government organization hunting for portals created by a long-vanished
alien race, portals that can teleport a person hundreds or thousands of
light-years in the blink of an eye.
Roarke and Selene are
searching one such possibility when they find that someone appears to be
stalking them. They evade their pursuers and return to find that a man
named Easton Dent has been searching the Spiral’s databases for the
names Gregory Roarke and Icarus.
Roarke reluctantly agrees to
meet with him. But that first contact is cut short, and hours later
Roarke is arrested and accused of Dent’s murder.
More importantly
to Roarke’s Icarus Group overseers, that brief meeting also confirms
that Dent was in recent contact with a portal.
But the alien
Patth are also searching for such portals, and they are also on the
trail. It’s now a race . . . and the Patth have resources and
ruthlessness far beyond anything Roarke and Selene can match.

someone bury a body on their land, the answer isn’t as simple as they
thought it would be.
It’s a deal that could change their lives.

accidental. As the police dig back into the case, Maggie begins her own

A headstrong princess finds herself entangled
in intrigue, politics, magic, and love in this coming-of-age novel set
in the world of the House Witch series.
It’s been twenty
years since Finlay Ashowan, the fabled house witch of Daxaria, first
cooked up supernatural hijinks in the castle at Austice. Since then,
much has changed; the royal family now resides elsewhere, a tentative
peace has been established with Troivack, and the crown princess, Alina,
is ready to pick the perfect nobleman to be her husband.
But
Alina’s quest for her ideal consort is proving rather difficult. For
one, between her father’s nerves and her own health issues, relations
within the family are tense at best. For another, Fin and his wife,
Annika, have returned to the castle to celebrate Alina’s momentous
choice, bringing with them their fiery daughter, Katarina; mysterious
son, Tamlin; and mischievous familiar, Kraken—all of whom have a
penchant for finding trouble that somehow surpasses that of the house
witch himself. And finally, the most politically promising suitor, the
king of Troivack, is nothing less than completely intolerable.
Now,
Alina must manage filial expectations, flirtatious miscues, magical
misadventures, and dangerous plots, all as she struggles to find her own
place within her kingdom—and understand the blossoming desires of her
own heart . . .
Featuring a new generation of delightful
characters as well as the trademark charm, humor, and fantasy that made
readers fall in love with the House Witch series, The Princess of Potential is a captivating tale of courtly intrigue, slow-burn romance, and mystical adventure that’s perfect for teens and adults alike.
The specter of graduation looms large as Naomi Novik’s trilogy continues in the sequel to A Deadly Education.
In Wisdom, Shelter.
That’s the official motto of the Scholomance. I suppose you could even
argue that it’s true—only the wisdom is hard to come by, so the
shelter’s rather scant.
Our beloved school does its best to
devour all its students—but now that I’ve reached my senior year and
have actually won myself a handful of allies, it’s suddenly developed a
very particular craving for me. And even if I somehow make it through
the endless waves of maleficaria that it keeps throwing at me in between
grueling homework assignments, I haven’t any idea how my allies and I
are going to make it through the graduation hall alive.
Unless,
of course, I finally accept my foretold destiny of dark sorcery and
destruction. That would certainly let me sail straight out of here. The
course of wisdom, surely.
But I’m not giving in—not to the mals,
not to fate, and especially not to the Scholomance. I’m going to get
myself and my friends out of this hideous place for good—even if it’s
the last thing I do.
Pippa Sheffield has a penchant for trouble. She
doesn't ask to be thrown into slippery situations, but they tend to find
her. She has worked at maintaining good behavior—she owes that much to
her sister—until her new neighbor, William Blakemore, moves in. Come to
find out, he is nothing but trouble.
