Latest Book Haul

I've decided to post one of these about every six months, so these are the physical books I bought over the last 6 months or so. I was shocked at how many I had bought. If I had stacked them all up in one stack they would have been almost as tall as my library ladder which goes almost to the ceiling! I might have a book buying problem! ðŸ¤” I do plan on not buying as many for a while though because I've collected most of the ones I've been wanting. It's definitely going to start getting to a point where I have to unhaul books that aren't that important to me.

Preorders

I love the blue on this cover and the blue sprayed edges. I'm looking forward to reading this one.

I love the fireworks on this one and the sprayed edges, such a beautiful book.

Preordered, of course. Love this series!

Last year I bought the deluxe version of The Courting of Bristol Keats, so I decided that I needed to go ahead and buy the deluxe version of book 2 as well while it was available, even though I haven't read book 1 yet. I've enjoyed this authors other books though, so I feel like it's not a huge risk.

Kristen Britain's books are always a preorder.

Patricia Briggs is another automatic preorder for me.

I had The Strength of the Few on preorder but I knew that they had changed the cover design and I wasn't happy that my books wouldn't match. When I got the book I found out that the publisher decided to print a reversible cover with a design that would match the original cover on the back. I was so surprised that a publisher actually did this. I can't think of another time this has been done. Needless to say I was thrilled. There was only one problem. I liked both covers, and they had reissued the first book in the new cover as well. When has a publisher ever done that before either? So, I did something some people might think is silly. I bought both versions of the books. There's one caveat. The gold on the cover for The Strength of the Few that was made to match the original cover isn't shiny like the gold is on The Will of the Many. For me this is a small insignificant thing that doesn't bother me. I'm just happy that the publisher cared enough to even give me a matching cover. Hopefully more publishers will do this in the future.

Kickstarters

I loved The Housewitch, so I was really excited that there was a kickstarter for a deluxe omnibus edition.

I backed the kickstarter for book 5 in The Ryiria Chronicles series and then later preordered the other four books in the series from the author's website. Because I ordered them separately, something got mixed up with the shipping and I had to email them about it. Robin, Michael's wife, was very apologetic and said they would get the rest of the books to me as soon as they could. She was aware that I had ordered the regular hardcovers but when I got the books they had sent me the deluxe versions. It was such a nice gesture and I love them! I did have to order book 5 in the deluxe version so they would match, so now I have two of that book, but I'm not complaining. I love these books, they're beautiful!

The regular hardcover I got from backing the kickstarter.

Abby Jimenez books

I found these two at book outlet.

I found the third book in the trilogy at Pangobooks and the seller included a ton of extras (bookmarks and stickers) and wrapped everything up so nicely.

 T. Kingfisher books

I've been collecting the T. Kingfisher books that I've enjoyed. This one is my favorite.

I haven't read this one yet but this edition is very pretty.

Katherine Center books

I don't really like the cover on this one but I love her books.

Also not a fan of this cover, but at least the colors aren't so bright they hurt my eyes like the other one.

B.E. Baker books

This is based on an inspirational and miraculous true story of Bridget's horse Denver, and what they went through to save his life when he had an injury. I love that it's written from Denver's point of view. The book is gorgeous with lots of photos and foil lettering on the cover.

When I posted my last book haul I mentioned that Bridget might be reissuing her Scarsdale Fosters series with new titles and covers. Well, here it is! Very pretty books, and I think the titles fit the books better.

I got the next two special editions in the Russian Witch's Curse Series. These are also gorgeous books with foiling, sprayed edges and lots of photos. The naked hardcover is beautiful as well.

Minka Kent books

I've been wanting these two books for a while so when I saw them on Pangobooks I grabbed them.

Karen Clarke books

I ordered these from Blackwell's. I read them and enjoyed them, along with a couple of other books by this author.

Elizabeth Bonesteel books

I really enjoyed this series so I decided to buy the paperbacks when I found them for really cheap on Pangobooks. I did hear that the author is redesigning the covers for the series now that she has the rights back from the publisher, but I do like the original covers. I guess I could end up liking the new covers better, but the fourth book is one of her cover designs, and I don't like it as much as the others, so we will see.

Charlie Chan books

I've been curious about the Charlie Chan books for a long time. I saw some of the old black and white movies that were based on them when I was a kid, but I want to try the books out and see what I think. I found someone selling these on Pangobooks.

Collectable Classics

These are special editions by MinaLima with lots of pop-ups and illustrations. I'm actually not as crazy about these as I thought I would be, but they are pretty. I like the art in The Jungle Book the best. The one I really want the most is Frankenstein, but I'm waiting for that one to go on sale.

Plugging holes in some of my collections

These are books that I've been needing to buy to fill in collections that were incomplete.

I finally found this book in hardcover at a price I could afford. I know it's not a pristine copy, but that's ok with me, especially since I don't even know if I'm going to like this one yet. The book itself is in excellent condition, the dust cover just has a couple of small tears.

I bought book three in the Part of Your World series not knowing it was a trilogy. After reading book one I knew I wanted to have this whole series on my bookshelf. So, I bought the other two books in the series. I can't wait to read books two and three.

These next two books are second books in duologies. I bought book one  in both of these duologies last year and still have not read either if them. I've never read anything by either of these authors so hopefully I will like these.

I finally have all the books in this series.

I've only got one book left to collect in this series.

I usually buy Bridget's books directly from her, but I ended up seeing this one for sale on Pangobooks. It was in like new condition at a really low price, so I grabbed it. I've still got one more book to buy in this series.

I still have one book left to buy in this series.

I discovered this author's books last year and I bought books 2-4 before I had even read any of them. I ended up reading book one on KU and really liked it. I finally bought it a few months ago, so now I have book one as well. I really want to find the time to read the second book soon.

I already had the second book in this series when it went on sale a long time ago. The others have never  gone on sale, so I decided to just go ahead and buy them.

I finally bought the one book I was missing from this series.

I've had the first two books in this trilogy on my shelf for a while and I finally bought the third one.

I've been looking for a copy of this book with the original cover for a long time. I found the first two books quite a while ago but this one was harder to find. I finally took a chance and bought this one on Ebay from a seller that only had a stock photo posted. It paid off, this book is in excellent condition and has the cover I was looking for.

I already had the second book in this duology on my shelf but never got around to buying the first one. I decided to go ahead and buy this one because it was at a good price.

I had the first book in this series and now I have the second one and the last one too. Now I just need books three and four.

Other books that I've bought

Years ago I saw an old classic movie that was based on this and was curious about the book.

I've been wanting this book for a long time and finally decided to go ahead and buy it.

This one was one of my favorite book club reads from last year. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.

I read this one a couple of years ago and I think it's Catherine Ryan Howard's best book. The cover on this one is interesting because it's designed to look like it's worn and torn.

I bought this one for the stories that are related the The Others books.

I found a like new copy of this one on Pangobooks.

I'm always looking for good short stories so, when I saw this I decided to try it.

I did a crazy thing. I came across this collector's edition of A River Enchanted on Book Outlet. I thought it was so pretty. It has a reversible cover with the same artwork that's on the paperback version. I think I love the naked hardcover even better than the dust jacket. I'm wondering if they're going to make a collector's edition of the second book too. I hope so, but anyway, the crazy thing is right after I bought this Illumicrate came out with another collectable edition of this and A Fire Endless and I bought those too! I won't get them until June so they will have to be a part of my next book haul. If you've seen my previous book haul then you know I already had the paperback versions of these books. So, now I have two complete sets of this duology and another copy of the first book on my shelves. I should probably unhaul the paperbacks but I love the covers on those too. Book problems.

My daughter bought me this lovely edition of Jane Eyre for Christmas.
