How to Walk Away by Katherine Center

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Category: Adult
Genre: Romance, Contemporary Romance
Content: Strong Language

Margaret Jacobsen has a bright future ahead of her: a fiancé she adores, her dream job, and the promise of a picture-perfect life just around the corner. Then, suddenly, on what should have been one of the happiest days of her life, everything she worked for is taken away in one tumultuous moment.

In the hospital and forced to face the possibility that nothing will ever be the same again, Margaret must figure out how to move forward on her own terms while facing long-held family secrets, devastating heartbreak, and the idea that love might find her in the last place she would ever expect.

I enjoyed reading Margaret's journey throughout this book. The things she overcame, the things she learned to live with and without, and her perseverance had me glued to this. I empathized with her and triumphed with her. I loved that Margaret's sister was there for her and supported her through it all. I liked that everything made sense in this story and there were none of those annoying non-communication tropes. There were times when Margaret's family, and fiance would say things and I just couldn't believe anyone would be so insensitive, but I know people are so, I couldn't fault the author for that.

I actually prefer it when I get male and female points of view in romances. Katherine Center's books are just the female point of view, but it doesn't seem to matter when I'm reading her books. I enjoy them so much; the writing style, the characters, everything. I'm looking forward to reading another one of her books.
